[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The festival, was coordinated by CADPI (Centro para la Autonomía y Desarrollo de los Pueblos Indígenas) under the overall organization of the Indigenous Local Government, and supported by the Indigenous Partnership with the collaboration of SONIA (Society for New Initiatives and Activities for a Just New World).
The initiative was held on 30 March 2012 and involved seven communities – two local mestiza and 5 indigenous. The main objective of the festival – as perceived by the organisers and the participants – was to promote products that are cultivated in the indigenous territory of Tasba Pri as well as to demonstrate its productive potential. Several people prepared traditional misquito products (food and drinks) such as cassava cakes, rice cakes and misquito misla (a drink made from maize). The mestizos also prepared drinks made with chocolate, maize based pastries and typical bread.
The participation of the inhabitants of Sahsa was quite impressive: there was an encouraging sale of products. News about the festival was broadcast through the local radio of Sahsa (Amor), that of Bilwi (la Costeñisima), as well as the various churches found in the territory.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
